“Give me the answers.”



Last week I asked my leadership team to write down their expectations of me.

One item was notably *absent* from their list.

Not a single person asked me to have all the answers.

Or tell them what to do.

Which is a relief.

Because i usually don’t have all the answers.

...and sometimes I'm trying to figure out what to do.

What do they expect of me instead?

Trust
Support
Prioritization
Alignment
Communication (listening)
Motivation
Accountability

None of these requires a leader to be smartest person in the room, or to have all the answers (thankfully).

So, what do you expect from your leaders? And, have you asked your team what they expect from you?
